Shallow water, although it is safer for you, it is not safer for your SUP. When the fin hit the san, it can be damaged. So make sure you avoid the fin to hit the sand. Also, avoid surfing in the shoreline. When laying the board down the beach, make sure to lay the fin up.

Where is the back and front?

It is normal to confuse the back and the front of the board. It is quite a common mistake made by the beginners. Dont be shy from it. Instead, learn more about the front or back. Your instructor will tell you the difference.
