Your SUP First Waves

Most folks around the world, just feel to be afraid to try something new daring. Well, it is true or false. For instance, for the first timer who wants to surf SUP on the wave or the current of the rivers, that can be daunting for the first time. It is true, but once you nail it, it will become your second nature. We realize that we have no choice other than practicing to embrace the waves. Many people who rent a sup regularly in Kauai knows the fact really well. If you won’t go further, then you are not going anywhere at all.

One of the most challenging aspect of SUP surfing is paddling out through the white water or recovering after you are struggling in the break zone. This can be a daunting experience for those who don’t have long time experience in surf SUP.

The first thing to consider is to be aware of your surroundings. As the main rule, you will learn to surf and you are uncertain about your gear’s stability. Keep in mind to stay away from other surfers, swimmers, and even warders. It is too dangerous for both parties to be closer to each other.

Lying down will be the great option. This can work for small waves. However, it won’t be effective for big waves. They will knock you over. The best way to handle this is by lying down position then getting off your board, push down on the tail, and push the board over the foam.

The second option that you could consider is to kneel down and ride over white water by leaning back and taking the hard stroke. This technique will be effective for waves below three feet.

The third option, standing up. To do this, you will need certain practices to punch over the white water in advance. Your instructor will give you the tips and tricks to handle the big waves while standing up. But you will probably need to undergo such rigorous training before you are dispatched to the beach.

So, rent a sup now and contact your instructor. He or she will let you know the techniques you need to learn. You will also be accompanied when practicing from the beginning to the end.

As the paddlers, you will have the opportunities to share all the experiences, thereby inspiring the others to do the same.
